Privacy policy: DMCC Subscription Notices

Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Documentation

DMCC Subscription Notices ("the plugin") is published by Optexia, France ("we"), optexia.com.

What the plugin processes

To send and prove the notices required by the UK DMCC Act 2024, the plugin reads the site's subscriptions (customer name, e-mail, billing country, plan, prices and dates) and stores each notice sent: its full content, recipient, time and a hash.

Where it is stored

Only in the WordPress database of the site where the plugin is installed. Notices are sent through the site's own mail setup. The free plugin sends no data to us or to third parties.

Pro licences

If the site owner buys the Pro version, the licence and payment are handled by Freemius (Freemius, Inc.), which receives the buyer's name, e-mail, site URL and payment details under its own privacy policy. Customer data from the site is never sent.

Roles and retention

The site owner is the data controller. The evidence log is the site owner's proof that notices were given (s.272(6)), so uninstalling the plugin removes its settings but keeps the log, unless the site owner defines DMCC_NOTICES_DELETE_EVIDENCE to delete it too. The site owner decides how long to keep it.

Support requests

If you e-mail us, we keep your message and e-mail address only as long as needed to answer it, and at most 24 months.
